Milirats is now a 3D game

Well... this wasn't exactly the plan.

Milirats was originally a 2D game. It was conceived as a small, modifiable browser game, and its plot wasn't even supposed to be included. Just a silly demo version.

I eventually abandoned that version.

The main reason was simple, drawing all those sprite animations was a total damn nightmare. Each new unit meant more sprites, more poses, more animation frames, and more work before I could even add anything interesting to the game. I was also worried that the whole thing was starting to look too much like other games by that point, and like, I kinda don't like reinventing the wheel that much. And what about the stages? I considered having 3D levels with 2D characters, but in the end, it didn't work out. I didn't want to create tile-based levels because I was afraid they might come across as too "cheap" and "repetitive"
So, I decided to "paint" them out and then overlay a collision. It's not worth it.

Instead of constantly reworking that same project, I decided to rebuild Milirats in 3D from scratch. And... I think the result is quite interesting.

The new version is still based on the same core idea. You have two conflicting armies, you with the Muridian Army, a limited number of moves, shooting, aiming, jumping, purchasing units, and raiding the enemy base. The enemy can do the smae against you. However, you now actually control the active rat from both perspectives, those being third person and first person.

Here's how the 2D version looked like back then...

Not going to include any pics yet because the 3D is not that interesting as of now, it's just cubes and stuff

The old 2D version might get part of its code reused for something else in the future, perhapzzz
